Entry Procedures
 

Deadline For All Entries is May 16, 2008
Eligibility
  • Sculpture artists from across the nation are invited to participate in the 2008 Cary Visual Art Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition.
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and reside in the United States of America.
  • All entries must be received by May 16, 2008.
  • Only finished sculptures are eligible. (Maquettes and models are not eligible for consideration.)
  • All sculptures must meet the requirements outlined in the Exhibition Guidelines.
  •

Submission of an entry acknowledges the right of Cary Visual Art, Inc. to use it for exhibition and publication, should it become chosen.

 
  •

You may enter up to two sculptures for a $25 Entry Fee.
If you choose to enter two sculptures, both sculptures need to be entered at the same time to be covered by the $25 fee. An artist may enter more than two sculptures provided a $25 fee accompanies each pair.
  •

Submit two views of all works.

   
  • The images may be quality photographs or digital images.
  • All digital images must be in a .jpg, .tiff or .pdf format with a 72DPI and a maximum of 800 pixels in height or width.
  • Please format the file name as follows: "LastName_Title_ImageNumber.jpg"
  • Do not send images embedded in a Word document or PowerPoint presentation.
  • Do not send images of maquettes and models, as they are not eligible for consideration.
 
How to Submit and Pay Entry Fee
  •

By mail:
   
  1. Entries may be submitted by United States Mail, FedEx, UPS, etc.
  2. Download, print and complete the 2008 Cary Visual Art Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition Entry Form and return it along with a $25 non-refundable entry fee in the form of a check or money order made payable to Cary Visual Art, Inc. to the address listed below. A completed Entry Form must accompany each artist’s entry. (Two sculptures may be entered for each $25 entry fee.)
  3. Send two photographs of each sculpture entered as high-resolution color digital images on a CD. All images must be in a .jpg, .tiff or .pdf format with a 72 DPI and a maximum of 800 pixels in height or width. Please format the file name as follows: “LastName_Title_ImageNumber.jpg."
  4. If you wish to have your CD returned to you, include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) for the return of the CD.

Acknowledgement of Receipt of Entries
  As soon as we open your package, we will send an acknowledgement to you via email.
 
Winning Entries
  Only the 10 finalists selected to exhibit will be notified on or before June 25, 2008. The juror will review all the sculptures on-site before making the final section for The Best of Show Award. The Best of Show award will be announced at the Cary Lazy Day Festival on August 23, 2008.
