You are invited to submit your outdoor sculptures to the 2008 Cary Visual Art Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition. Selected by the distinguished juror, Hank Foreman, ten finalist entries will have their sculptures exhibited for ten months on the Town Hall campus of Cary, NC from August 15, 2008 through June 18, 2009.
A $1,000 honorarium will be given to each of the ten finalists, and the juror will then select a Best of Show award winner, who will receive a $5,000 cash prize.
The Juror for the competition is Hank Foreman, Director and Chief Curator of the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts in Boone, NC. During his tenure with the Turchin Center, Mr. Foreman has developed exhibitions, lectures, and symposia while overseeing the annual Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Competition and Exhibition. Mr. Foreman obtained his MA degree in art education from Appalachian, having completed undergraduate studies at UNC-Charlotte, with a concentration in painting and sculpture.
